    Default The coming winter stircrazies...

    When you get stircrazy, what do you do? Winter is coming soon; for some of us, venturing outdoors won't be much of an option. Many of us are on a budget these days, so please don't suggest something like going on a cruise to the Bahamas. The cheaper the relief for crazy stirring, the better.

    I went to the library the other day and that worked pretty well. I looked at the community bulletin board and there were all kinds of things posted there. Ads for in-home pet sitters, classes on ecopsychology, etc. They had all the major newspapers from around the state. Also, they had a ton of magazines. (It was like going to a bookstore but with none of the guilt of not buying the magazines. ) All-in-all, I felt like I was in a "physical" version of the Internet.

    Go to the gym!
    Snow on the ground?
    Ice on your roof?
    No hot water due to a power outage in a snowstorm?

    Well then, sounds like its time to do an hour of cardio and a full body workout!

    Euchre! That's what my friends and I used to play to keep the crazies away. Or make up rhymes.

    last year i increased the heating to 27 degree celsius, and i was rather naked all the time. it was so hot, that i was motivated to jump into clothes and leave the house now and then, to get some fresh air.

    Snowshoeing... but only after shoveling, snow-blowing, and raking roofs. If it's not too icy just going for walks up my usually dirt road.

    Even so I'm dreading it.

    C'mon, the winter season is the best. Snowboarding

    Also give you plenty of reason to hang out at the pub and drink until you're warm.
    ...Then I ducked my head and the lights went out, and two guns blazed in the dark;
    And a woman screamed, and the lights went up, and two men lay stiff and stark...

    I like my winters snowy and white. Alas, the usual winters in Holland are rainy and slippery, which, to me, is an absolute doom scenario.

    I don't really care about the temperature. Cold has never stopped me from doing anything.
