    yeah, I totally get that.

We just don't follow standard conventions, everything is open to exploration, even stuff that some people might feel squeamish about. It's all worth taking on its own terms.

TP tends to be pretty sane too... there's an easy-going stability there that most people can pick up on. They just don't know how to reconcile it with the exploration of some areas they find quirky or different.

..my ability to keep the bulk majority of my inappropriate thoughts/comments within the safety of my own head.
That's a biggie. I looked a lot more vanilla and conventional when I was younger and kept everything in... even though inside I had quite a surreal landscape.

Edit: Oh. And to answer the OP's question: I quite enjoy being odd. I feel the most comfortable when the people around me don't know what to expect from me. Weird, huh.

... I never want people to think they have me in a box.
I like being seen as the low-key "wild card."

And yes... Amen to the "sane" part. Especially ITPs, I feel like. That's definitely one of the bigger things people find contradictory in me... They don't think "Sane," "down-to-earth," and "bizarre" usually go together.

Yup! I love my weirdness, but I don't really feel the need to display it at all times. I'll make half-assed attempts to appear normal, given the situation. But around people I feel comfortable with, a few of my filters go out the window. A few. Not all.

    Same!
I have an inner monologue that sounds strikingly similar to something off Animal Planet.

I'm weird in some very significant ways, but normal in most of the others.
