    my name is nicole and adding -ita to a girl's name is like a sweet endearing way of referring to them in spanish.

    kinda like calling someone named joe joe-y.

    i love the spanish language, other languages, and other cultures, so it's kind of a persona in which i'm a spanish-speaking girl living in a latin culture fantasy thing for me.
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    My mother is an immigrant from Central America and she won't let me speak to her unless I'm speaking in Spanish, which is inconvenient since I'm only half fluent. I love other languages so much (my goal is to learn 3 before I graduate college) but I have a love-hate relationship with Spanish.

    Haha I can understand feeling that way. I still feel a bit envious of the strong cultural influence you have in your family. I'd love to learn more languages too. Any idea which you hope to learn?

    Right now I'm in the process of Spanish, next will hopefully be French (seeing as Spanish and French are grammatically similar) and then finally German.

    All those possibilities for bad puns.

    Also, it's sort of what I am, always have been. There. Passive, present but mostly uninvolved, barely noticed, reliable, the backup solution.

    Sorry for necro-ing but... such an interesting topic.

    I find your username very creative! Mine is after a Muse song, because I like it but mainly because I like the idea of someone existing physically but not in paper, being off the grid, with nothing that acknowledges your existence. To me it sounds really freeing, being by not existing.
