I'd think most womens rib cadge is around there waist or not far from it.
Ahh, yes, it's pretty close back there. I consider the waist a big lower though, personally . Not at the belly button like a lot of people do.

I thought the waist was the entire section between the last rib and the start of the hip bone?

guys shapes are different, they don't tend to waist in the same way as women. I'd need to check but I think my belly button is lightly lower than my waist (it being the narrowest part of my body)... I definately have 1 or 2 ribs on that line... I'm never going to be able to wear very tiny belts.... PS that doesn't mean I'm over weight, I'm normal weight...

Berb - it's the narrowest part of that belt.... in terms of measurment...

yea thats cos the ideal man shape is angualr and triangular... broad at the hips narrow at the hips....

Although personally speaking in a man an over developed top half with tiny bottom half just looks strange.

At least in body measurment terms for the buying of clothes... Although I suspect if you have an Ooober tiny waist and a huge bum then buying clothes would be a real nightmare...

Yes, my sister has this problem, her waist is a hell of alot smaller than her bum and all trousers/skirts that she buy are way to big for her waist yet super tight on her bum. So her waist is a size 10 (uk) but she buys size 14/16 because of the bum and upper thighs.

She mostly wears tracksuits because of how hard it is to shop for herself.
