    Wanted in the past? Definitely not. But the life I want now? I am definitely living it.
    I really like cats and food.

    I never will.

    What I've wanted is to know what I want and live the life through that want. However I have an endless supply of what I needed, but sometimes want is a tastier morsel; life doesn't have to be like a monk's penance after all.

    Amusingly I hated being a child and a teen and now I hate being an adult, perhaps what I hate is myself?

There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

    Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
    "Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.

    I'm that person that embodies pretty much everything that you hate. Might as well get used to it.

    Upon deeper reflection, I believe this is the wisest answer within this whole thread.

    I say this because when we refuse to be satisfied, there's always a push for improvement, a drive to make things better. If the african american slaves decided that they were happy about their lives, they wouldn't have taken action to get full equality. Basically, when we aren't happy, (paradoxically) there are greater hopes for future happiness.

    Discontent is indeed a great motivator for change. And that is where conflict is of great benefit to the world.

    Always.

    I am living life and that's what I want to live. There will always be more to want and aspire to. There will always be bitter doses of reality to temper the wonderment. But I am so happy to be a person on earth with power within me and life around me.
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    Yes totally. I struggle to understand people who don't. The beauty of this life is that we can be whoever we want to be and do whatever we want to do, so why live your life in chains if you have the key all along?
