Default Everything is funnier at 3 a.m.

I often find myself laughing at things far more at night than I do during the day. When school is in session, my friends and I frequently hang out sipping Sierra Nevadas and laughing at nearly anything that comes out way. I remember once becoming overwhelmed by a laughing fit at the crunchy sounds of an overdone BLT sandwich. What gives? Anyone else catch themselves giggling hysterically at night over things normally noy funny?

Hehe, I do. Sleep deprivation does that to you. Things seem more absurd.

Oh yes! I think it even goes beyond the feeling of being stoned and/or drunk. Being comfortably silly around a great group of sleep deprived friends is one of the purest joys in life. There have been so many times I've laughed till I cried and while I was laughing forgot what was even funny in the first place.

Yeah, I occasionally post youtube videos that I find funny onto facebook, I only put them up if they are truly good, but I found that when I post one at a later time, it doesn't get as good a review... yet I laughed just as hard... if not harder...

Depends on the mood I guess. Being deprived of sleep seems to intensify certain feelings, be it sadness or joy, while also mixing them together into this bittersweet mess. Much like the faint half-light of early hours.

Actually, intensify isn't a good word here. It's more like half of me is asleep already and the random unconscious mind and emotions come closer to the surface. Often resulting in laughing at random, absurd things.

I find at night esp when in bed trying to sleep that my thinking process gets seriously intense. Very different to during the day. Hard to explain.
Something on the lines of during the day, its thinking and feelings. In bed its just thinking but can get so intense it does reduce me to tears on occasion.
    I don't think i turn off sometimes.

If i am not asleep at 3am, i am ready to go on a killing rampage.
    I NEED SLEEP.

This thread is evil. Yeah i was still awake at 3am this morning. Not funny.

Actually it was a good thing as there was a huge spider climbing up my bed *shudders*. Yeah, i am scared to death of them.
