The voice I hear sounds a lot like my own, but smoother and more professional. Sometimes there is reason to imagine what a person or character sounds like, but I just imagine it once and make a note of it. I don't actually continue reading with that voice in my head, it would seem like too much work and it would probably reduce my reading speed.

Avatars have no effect and even if I've heard a person's accent before, when I read what they say I do not subvocalize their accent whatsoever.

Sometimes, never really regular though. I'm probably too annoying for others to bother with mine though. ^_^

I do want to speak with you. It's that I thought we were starting off on a bad relationship, and I didn't want that.

But I would love to hear the sound of your voice.

    Victor.

I definitely do this but I haven't been back long enough to recognize everyone's unique voice yet.

    Nope, well yes but no.

I don't subvocalize based on whot people actually sound like. I seriously don't care whot they sound like. Their actual voice is not neccesarily fitting to who they are, any more than their name is.

I get very frustrated with the concept of a voice, name or anything else which is given at birth more or less, which yeu have very little control over... and having it define who yeu are, despite being totally independant of such.

As such, when I do so, it's generally either in my own idealized voice of myself narrating, or if it's someone I'm close enough to to recognize who they are, then it'll be an idealized version of whot I think they should sound like, not whot they do.

    YUCK!

Everyone here sounds like me. I didn't really realize until now. This sucks.

I only seem subvocalize people's writing if I know their voices.

Oh I so totally subvocalize based on a person's avatar.

Athenian200 sounds like a more humanized version of C3PO's voice.

Economica speaks with a Russian accent (even though I know she isn't Russian).

Jennifer is the same voice I give to Death when I read the Sandman which is an artsy chick from Soho in her early 40's that balances far out creativity with some common sense.

runvardh is how I imagine a cat talking with a male voice.

Wildcat is an old hermit that speaks in riddles.

Heart has a soft but serious and deliberate tone.

Synarch talks with a projected echoing voice like he's in a Greek ampitheatre speaking through a mask.

Substitute speaks like Q, but with some Piers Morgan mixed in.

Solitary Walker speaks like a serious and dispassionate philosopher.

ygolo speaks in a scientific matter-of-fact tone.

Mycroft sounds like a British stuffy old fart.

    Victor sounds like he's stoned.

Digesthisickness's posts always read as if her tone is dripping with extra sarcasm.

Giggly's tone is giggly in a way that says, "I'm interested in what you have to say, but I think you're nuts too."

Proteanmix talks as if she is really warm but can get riled up easily.

Haight's tone resembles Comic-Book-Guy from The Simpsons.

Antisocial one talks slowly and deliberately.

Stellar renegade actually has what I consider a normal voice, but I think he might be the only one.

Trinity sounds like Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica.

ThatGirl has a loud energetic voice.

Ivy speaks with a respectful but down-to-earth tone.

Udog sounds like the dog from Up

That's what I've got just off the top of my head. I think I subvocalize a lot.
