I do that to when I read his posts too! I guess I really only subvocalize when someone has an avatar that I associate a voice with.

EDIT: I also read wikisocion in a thick Russian/Eastern European accent in my head. How can you not?

Hehe. Thanks to his old avatar of Murray N. Rothbard, I used to read Matthew_Z's posts with...Abe Simpson's voice.

    I still do...

I guess I do, but then I can't put my finger on any of the voices I hear.

We are moving from a literate society to a spoken society.

Your voice, held down so long by literacy, is dancing in your throat.

Your voice knows the race is ahead, and like a race horse at the staring post. is dancing in anticipation.

I can hardly wait too. I can't wait to hear the sound of your voice. If only I could get you to turn off your mind for a while and read, "Wind in the Willows", aloud with me on Skype, the race will begin.

"It's Jenocyde and Victor round the first bend. Victor is a bit of a stayer but Jenocyde might pip him at the post. How natural they look stretching out down the first straight. Yes, yes, I think, I believe they are talking to each other. What a race".

Back in the stalls, Jenocyde continues to subvocalise. "Speak up, speak up dear Jenocyde", says Victor, "I love the sound of your voice".

Sometimes, I'll just randomly star subvocalizing in different accents. Not for any reason, but when I'll be reading someone's post, it will come out in an accent I didn't intend it to. It's usually an English one, but sometimes a French one.

    LOL, I'm a tool.
Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

I wasn't aware that anyone else did either until this thread.

I don't do too much of this. I'm not good at inferring one's voice sound I don't think, and doing this isn't something I subconsciously do (minus maybe a few exceptions).
