He had a slight frame, nice legs accentuated by black pantyhose, a dress to just above the knee and a blond wig. He got in the elevator with a male classmate who did not look up right away. When he did, he did the slow travel up the legs gaze and when he got a little further up was mortified to realize that the object of his Peppy Le Pew like amorousness was indeed male. He was so embarrassed he blurted out, "I'm sorry man, I had no idea. I'm really sorry!" and got off the elevator at the next stop!
That's just awesome. My idea of funnies.

I've talked about how if the elevator drops you need to stand up nice and straight. Your legs will crumple on impact but you'll save your spine and life.
Ever got in a lift with someone who is scared to death of them, then started jumping up and down .. Classic. (i just have a wicked sense of humour)

Having given this some thought (silly random nothingness) i was under the impression, should the lift fall. You should jump just before impact and crouch when you connect with the floor.
Your thoughts please. (just in case i ever have to put it into practice)

Instead of talking, I just smile or give people a head-nod.

Anyone ever press all the elevator buttons at once? Do you go into a time-space continuum?

Being the people person I am, I observe the people on the elevator, and I'll speak or say a joke, depending on who it is.

:yim_rolling_on_the_...bitch vibe! My friend tells me I'm so obvious when I'm annoyed or don't want to talk to someone. Bitch vibe comes standard as an automatic in this vehicle! I tell her it's not that I don't like them I just don't want to talk to them. Big difference. But try to tell that to an ENFP.

On the topic of the OP: When in an elevator with a random stranger I usually don't realize I'm holding my breath until the door to their floor opens up first and they get out...ahhhh....freedom! (gotta say that with Mel Gibson Braveheart voice for full effect).

I don't really feel awkward in the elevator. I usually just watch the doors and numbers, wait for them to open. If a person seems friendly or starts talking to me, I might just say something like, "Oh, I'm headed to floor X for Z. What about you?"
