How does control over a conversation, which the sole purpose of getting to know certain things, make it any different then talking to a robot? It takes two to tango. Control kills spontaneity and heralds boringness. The other person probably has questions too

Oh yeah, I am such a bad person, I am Satan. Of course the other person may ask questions as well. I am 'spontaneous' too, there's a big repertoire of reactions. How is a conversation without a goal interesting?

Live. For the same reasons Sytpg said. While interfacing with people in person can be hard and intimidating, it's also a thousand times more satisfying when compared to recorded methods. Recorded stuff is easier for a somewhat shy, introverted person such as myself, but it's like... Fast food vs gourmet meal...where recorded is fast food (easy to make/get, hard to mess up, tastes good, but not filling) and live is a gourmet meal (harder to make, easier to mess up, tastes even better, filling).
