This is possibly the worst advice on the whole thread. I shake my head at its implications.

He's obviously an I Am Legend-esque half zombie.

Ok, based on that advice about ruthlessness, I would come across as the one least likely to shoot you as soon as you were bit, but trust me, I'm not what I appear to be, I will shoot you once you are bit, feel sad about it but understand how necessary it was.

Which then led me to ask my brother if he could shoot his best friend if his best friend was bitten, he replied if it was his best friend a good friend would ask you to shoot them rather than try to risk you.

I then asked him if he had a child would it be so easy, and he is now stumped.

So, if your child was bitten could you shoot?

I could be ruthless, but I don't think I could be THAT ruthless.

I thought Shawn of the Dead conclusively proved that this was manageable?

Yeah, that's tough. Way too many competing instincts there.

Haha awesome film, that I must now rewatch since you reminded me of it.

Yeah, that's tough. Way too many competing instincts there.

Isn't it though? hopefully when the zombies attack I can prevent the situation from arising at all. :P

If not, well I'd rather not think about that part, because when I do try, it gets far too difficult to imagine what I would be able to do lol.

Not a whole lot different from the "old yeller" scenario.

Of course, I say that as a dude with no offspring. I think the scenario is part of the fascination with the zombie myth though - all the people you thought you were absolutely safe with suddenly trying to kill you. Well there are many, many fascinating aspects of the zombie myth, but that's one of them. I wonder if it's a carry-over from the McCarthy era commie paranoia (sleeper agents etc)?

    Step 1: Get bitten

    Step 2: Feast
    ...Then I ducked my head and the lights went out, and two guns blazed in the dark;
And a woman screamed, and the lights went up, and two men lay stiff and stark...

My god you are all unaware.

Zombies don't come from the fucking graveyard, that's hollywood bullshit
They can't use tools. They're retarded.
They are not affected by nuclear fallout.

My plan is essentially to get as much water upstairs as possible, with roof access, put a rope ladder over the side of the building, destroy the staircase after locking everything up downstairs, then just picking people off.

I thought of a few traps I could use on zombies.

Imagine a big hole full of flammable substance, about 20 feet deep with sides perpendicular to the ground. Then imagine a cat in a cage making lots of noise and swinging above the hole. Just make sure to torch them every few days!

If the zombie appocalypse is caused by actually dead people rising, then I'm going to cast a counterspell. If it's due to a pathogen, then I'm medically compbating it. Get the blowguns. .

Take me! I know how to use weapons and I have basic first aid and survival skills. I am also skilled in other areas.
P.S.: If I can, then I'll save any Typology central members I encounter in the midatlantic region, then I'm going to Ha-Lon bay in Vietnam. I'll be looking for weapons like swords and spears, since those are quiet and won't need ammo. Why use a gun and have to fight a zombie horde when you can assassinate one and sneak by?
