    Default Shoring up our weaknesses

If your parents or even siblings are of different types than you, how do you feel that has affected you? Have they helped you become aware at an earlier age of the weaknesses that might naturally be inherent or have they served to balance out any of your preferences so that it is easier to relate to other types?

(I have noticed in the ESTJ thread we had that those with NF/NT parents had a little more interest and tolerance in relating to non-SJs and wondered if that is just how they are naturally or if their upbringing has affected their perspective or way of dealing with people. I'd be curious to know about this among a wider sample of types).

If anything, they've served to distance me from other types more. Because of me becoming more aware of what fuels them as to what fuels me. I have an entirely different look on things and was often berated for not being more like 'them'. Except I was stubborn and went the other way.

My dad has given me incentive to learn to deal with sensing thinkers, although I never got enough discussion from him to understand how. This forum has been very useful in that sense.
