The main person who comes to mind for me is Dr. Horrible from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Though in a certain sense it's less a matter of relating to Dr. Horrible and more a matter of relating to everything Joss Whedon does with his character (to the extent that such a distinction can be made).

The video below is just the first 7:27 of the first act. The whole thing is well worth watching though when you've got a spare 45 minutes (or three spare sets of 15 minutes - it's in acts that were initially released over the course of 5 days, iirc). You can watch it for free here, or on hulu.

Reactions seem to vary, but a couple of close friends of mine and I love it and can talk excitedly about it for long periods of time. Joss's work is brilliant and it brings out wonderful, deep resonances between people who love it and perceive its depths.

I only relate to aspects of people, never to anyone as a whole. If I had to choose someone, though, chaos from Xenosaga would be one of my top pics. Scroll to about 5:20, and what he (the person with white hair) says reminds me of myself when I'm in one of my more cheerful moods:

This is close. Likes smack downs but always reflects integrity, humor and politeness.

    "We have civilized discourse..."
"The news organizations look to Comedy Central for cues on integrity..."
"I'm not - I'm here to confront you because we need help from the media and they're hu-urting us"
"To do a debate would be great - that's like calling pro-wrestling athletic competition"
"I'm not suggesting that you're not smart - those (bowties) are hard to tie..."
"You're on CNN, the show that leads into me is puppets making crank calls..."

Something I've used so many times in my own life, before and after this clip was filmed:
"I'm not going to be your monkey"

I hate to say it, but Topher (from Joss Whedon's Dollhouse) is all that came to mind at the moment. Perhaps I'll try again when my brain's functioning, but yeah. I apologize for the crappy editing of this vid, it was all that I could find in a basic five-second search.
