Yes, but, in this particular instance...

The only type I dislike is ESFJ... because both moms and my younger sister are ESFJs and they make me want to kill myself.

Otherwise... I'll stand by the fact that ISTJs are boring. I'm sure there are non-boring ISTJs, but I've never met one. Usually they're not only boring, but frustratingly boring. Often very asexual or apathetic. We get along because of the apathy.

Do I have some kind of obligation to follow you around and read all your disclaimers?

Okay I can't take it anymore. I have to know. What makes people boring? All this time with people talking about "boring types" -- do you mean what they talk about? What they think about?

And also -- presumably you like psychoanalysis, since you're a forum member, so why doesn't the interesting stuff under the surface, and the subtext of what they do, and their motivations etc, counterbalance what you consider to be boring?

(I ask because like I said before, I don't find anyone boring.)

EDIT: Another question. Presumably all you people who think SJs are boring, think they're boring because they aren't very theoretical? In which case, do you think the SJs on the forum are more interesting, because they -- or rather, we -- talk about theories all the time?

It's obvious from this thread which type has the most boring personality...its the type of person who would spend hours chewing the fatty foreskin bits littering the floor of this fapthread flophouse.
“Some people will tell you that slow is good – but I’m here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba…”

Whenever someone is over-the-top with their bullshit, I know it's personal.
We had a member who, for close to a year, bashed ESTPs. I said to myself, "How much do you want to bet this kid's dad is an ESTP?"

    He was.
    Get the picture?

So many people who come to this forum are really bashing Mom, Dad, a lover who tossed them in the river, a coworker who shoved a rake up their ass, or looking to blame a group of people for their own failures and hypersensitivities.

Maybe if you're going to go out of your way to make fun, yeah.

The weird thing about it is, I can't pin down what exactly makes them boring. Mind you, it's not SJs in general. My ESTJ friends were interesting folks... and ESFJs, despite making me wish for death, are actually pretty interesting in that Twilight Zone kind of way.

The boring ones seem to be ISTJ and ISFJ.

I've had an ISTJ friend for six years. There's nothing exceptionally unusual about him that would make him more boring than anyone else. I would suppose the reason I can't stand him is his narrow-ness. 'I won't do this/that/other thing even if it would make me happy because I think my life is fine while I masturbate to anime porn, have no friends, a Jesus beard, and listen to neo-prog every day.' The only things he ever talks about tend to be neo-prog, making some "ironic" statements about how "different" everyone else tries to be, and various types of porn.

Now, that is one ISTJ friend, but I think it's worth noting I have two others who are almost the same. Replace 'neo-prog' with 'thrash metal' and 'indie rock' and you've got the other two.

Even when ISTJs are highly theoretical people (as he is), there's something about the way they explain things that just makes me want to not listen. It's not that they don't make respectable points that I could agree with, it's the way they do it... something about the tone, the pseudo-directness, the slight sense of smugness (but not the same smugness an INTJ might have on being awesome, or the smugness an INFJ might have on being emotional masterminds)... it's just bothersome to listen to them talk.

I think the worst of it was when I was into an ISTJ girl. She was completely asexual, aromantic, and apathetic towards most things. She is a very excitable person, but even at her most excited moments, there's a looming sense of something being wrong with the picture. Like she's totally out of her element being any form of excited and should instead be in a library... preferably as the librarian.

It's just bizarre. There's a wild uncomfortable feeling when around all of them. I used to make cracks about INTPs and INTJs being robots, but shit, I think ISTJs are the closest of all to being robots.

ISFJs I don't have as much experience with, but I just have nothing in common with them. I've never met an ISFJ I could converse with about anything at all. I have never had a conversation with an ISFJ. In retrospect, even though I've interacted with them plenty over the past few years, I haven't had a conservation with an ISTJ in years.
I have a (new) blog here.

There's nothing so boring as an NT who thinks all SJs, or almost, are conclusively the most boring.
