I identify as asexual, but most people don't really believe me. I could probably force myself to have sex with someone that I was very attracted to romantically, but it's not the first thing on my mind when I'm meeting someone new, and sexual attraction definitely isn't a necessary prerequisite in order for me to begin to feel romantic attraction to someone. In fact, I hope to find someone who feels the same way that I do someday, so that we both can understand that.. I don't want to deprive my partner of sex if it's something they want on a daily / weekly / monthly basis, and it's something that I would rarely be willing to do. It's just not there.

It seems like INFJs have a propensity to be. I don't know if it's real asexuality or just their sensitivity or what. They seem turned off to the way sex is presented in society; like it needs to be more "symbolic" for them and not just some physical, lustful experience.

I've met INTPs who would claim this, but it wasn't really so once you talked to them a bit more. In all instances, it seems they had some childhood trauma.

All the INTJs I have known were not close to asexual. I don't know about INFPs. We need/want as much closeness as we can get, I think . I think it may mostly be an INxx thing if you want to connect it to type, although that is dubious.

I am not asexual at all, for the record, haha.

I'm not asexual. Many times, I wish I had a lower sex drive. But if I were to pin down the most asexual type, I'd also pick INFP.

sex is probably one of the (only! and) biggest ways i feel a deep connection to the physical realm.

i think INFPs have a bigger propensity toward pansexuality, rather than asexuality.

Hell no. INFP here, and I'm definitely not asexual.

I roll my eyes at/generally ignore mindless, raunchy jokes, and wouldn't consider sleeping with someone unless he took an interest in my mind and emotions and made an effort to know me well. Maybe these tendencies cause people who don't know me well to think I'm not as sexual as other people, I don't know.

Were you saying people who say they're asexual are just snobs?

INFJ here and definitely not asexual.

I was raised in a rather strict religious environment and for years had considerable external pressure to be asexual. I'm not sure why I tried to live up to that, but coped with a fantasy life and erotic writing. At this point it is hard for me to conceive of a moment in time where I wouldn't be up for sex, although I am private and monogamous by nature, so there is only one person with whom I would choose to have sex.

I think people have asexual behaviors and attitudes for various reasons including low hormonal levels, beliefs that condition it as wrong or harmful, other priorities, violations from childhood that form negative associations, perhaps some kinds of elitistism/snobbery, intimacy problems, and just straight up frustration for having trouble finding a partner, etc..
