Somebody wants to move in France?

Well, it depends of your taste.

Cities of the great west (of France) are often considered to be the most agreeable places to live in France. For instance Nantes, Rennes, or Bordeaux, or La Rochelle are famed for their quality of life. Quiet places, yet dynamic culturally speaking.

If you're a student, you might also consider to live in Toulouse, Montpellier or Aix.

    ---

If you prefer to live in a big city (Paris, Lyons or Marseilles), well, you should be aware the quality of life may tremendously vary whether you have the money to live in the historical center, or within a depressing, dusty, grey suburb.
Marseilles has a very specific identity, but it's not that easy to integrate. It is settled into a magnificent landscape, yet it is considered as a "hard" city.

    ---

    Anyway.

Places you might choose to avoid: Nice; Toulon; Lille; Le Havre; Brest; Grenoble.

Places worth the trip: Clermont-Ferrand; Dijon; Nancy; Strasbourg; Rouen.

Given the opportunity I'd live almost anywhere in France, barring the suburbs of some major cities. France has awesome food, beautiful countryside, a way of life I appreciate and, believe it or not, some awesome people. I've never bumped into the stereotypical snooty/rude French person in France. They're not all like Blackmail! (I kid because I love, Blackmail )

I'd love to live in a village in Provence and just ride my bike around all day, picking up various bits of cheese, bread and bottles of wine, then come home and consume it with friends in the evening. Heaven.

Hang on, Falcarius' home city is a sister city with that place, and it also has a road named after Grenoble.:steam:

    What's so bad about Grenoble?

I like Avignon, Carcassonne, Caen, Bordeaux and - well, apart from Caen there aren't really any cities to speak of there, but I do love Calvados

(like to visit Paris occasionally, but wouldn't want to live there)

Hmm, I visited many cities of France. I loved the atmosphere in Provence, I'd choose a city like Aix-en_provence or Avignon, but I don't think I would love it very much to live in a little village.
ALso I'm not too fond of the northern regions, it's so cold and rainy in there.
