    Default Odd feelings...

Occasionally, I get this strange feeling that's really hard to describe. The best I can put it is an uneasy, sickly, feeling in the chest accompanied by almost a feeling of detachment. This is really hard to explain because I can't really find the right words to describe it. I don't believe it's related to anxiety. Has anyone else ever experienced this or some other unusual sensations? I'm just asking this because I get this feeling occasionally, and I get really confused when this happens. It happened last night when I was listening to this one song. Anyone else experience this or something else? Just throwing this out there...

I think I've experienced something like this. Can't describe it either. Emotional overload I guess. I get these usually during listening to music or watching movies or reading.

    Btw, what was the song?

I've gotten that feeling as well. It usually happens when I realize I've lost something very important to me, or when I see someone else lose something very important to them. I always assumed the feeling was "loss."

    Does that make sense?

    Yes.
I get this feeling more often than I care to admit!
I'm not sure what the exact trigger is. I suppose there are a few.
Sometimes the detached feeling is replaced with anger, though.

It's angst, or an anxiety attack.

    Know that feeling.

Oh yea- reread it- this could be an anxiety attack

Is it an emotional feeling of detachment or a physical feeling of detachment?

i've had that, too in anxiety attacks- physically feeling removed from my own body-

I feel that way all the time. Why would it make you anxious?

I've had two separate situations like this happen:

One day I felt so detached from my body that it felt like the world I was looking at didn't contain me in it anymore, like I was on the outside looking in, but I wasn't lol. It almost felt like my spiritual being wasn't in tune with the worry of the physical world at the time. This lasted about four or five hours. This was the most peace I've ever felt in my life. Nothing stressful went on that day either. I wonder if it was spiritual or if it was chemical/hormonal though, maybe lack of sugar balance in the body? hmm

Other times were definitely anxiety related.
