I swear in that day-to-day conversation type way when I'm in appropriate company for it. I'm usually not directing them at people in a hostile way. I see a lot of that "Move your car!" "EFF YOU!" "Suck it!" blah blah blah where I live but my thought on the matter is, "What if I go off on this completely random person and it turns out they're mobbed up and I end up sleeping at the bottom of the Hudson river because I decided to finally go off on someone for a stupid reason?"

I knew a girl who got her face stomped into the sidewalk just for (purposely) elbowing some guy in the nose.

I gotta find a new neighborhood.

Favorite... favorite... gosh there's some many to choose from and all the variations. I don't think I could pick just one for all occasions.

    Woo! Tangent!
    I know a girl, she's one of a kind
But the poor little thing, she's going out of her mind
    There's something you forgot - there's a reason why she's lost
Cos baby she don't want to be found

It's uncreative, unimaginative, obnoxious, and just plain sounds bad. I really don't understand why people feel the need and I'm mad at myself for allowing myself to be influenced so much that I do it in my head way too often. It's one thing for junior high kids to talk that way, when they're trying to be cool with how "naughty" they can be. It's another for adults to speak that way, including people who try to pass themselves off as "intellectual."

I have a sailors mouth, I've become so used to profanities that almost everything I say is punctuated in some way with a swear word.

I even have a swear box, usually I can make enough money from the swear box to treat myself to a new item of clothing every now and again lmao.

I don't have the feeling that I swear a lot, but it happens a lot that people think that I sound like some music video on MTV where they have to beep so any things away that you can't even hear the music anymore. So apparently I'm pretty rude without noticing, but I don't really give a fuck.

Swearing is coarsening, intimidating and conformist.

But most of all swearing is a sign of a low emotional IQ.

Any back up on that? a link to a study I can read on the connection?

I can't see swearing being connected to a low emotional IQ in all instances.

Swearing is our first language in the Corps. -- Around family and those whom I know would take offense to it, never.
