I always wear mine (unless it's broken), and I don't care if anyone else wears one.

Then again, I've never been in the driver's seat before. Things might look different from there.

I always wear a seat belt. The shoulder strap is uncomfortable for me because of my height (five feet) but I do wear it.I feel safer with the seat belt on. Years ago, a family member died in a car accident. He was not wearing a seat belt. I wonder if he would have survived if he had been wearing a seat belt.
I'm a little teapot, short and stout. Here is my handle and here is my spout. Every time I steam up, I give a shout. Just tip me over and pour me out.

Always, but I also live in suburbia.

Though I hear that the windshield can save your life, too.

If I'm in the backseat and going somewhere short, I don't really bother.. Otherwise, it's an instinct to do so.

I remember when I lived in Mexico no one in my host family put theirs on. They commented that it was odd that I used it because no one else did. I dunno, in Mexico driving seemed like a free-for-all, and traffic laws were merely suggestions...there was no way I wasn't going to wear a seatbelt! My thoughts were confirmed one day as I was taking a city bus and witnessed a car collide with another bus. The people in the bus were fine, the people in the car...not so much.

Seems like common sense to me.
Yeah its weird the different cultural attitudes toward seatbelts.

My friend was in Turkey and if you got into a car and put on a seat belt everyone was really offended. It was like you were saying that you think they're a terrible driver.

Mexico sounds like Egypt. You should have seen the way the taxi drivers drive in Cairo! Weaving in and out of busy traffic, no one staying in their lane, ducking down narrow alleyways, going the wrong way around roundabouts, running readlights and crossing through the moving traffic, dodging pedestrians from all directions at speed and missing them by centimetres, even driving on the wrong side of the road to get around the traffic. And all this done in beat up 1960s Ladas

It was times like that I missed seatbelts (and road rules).

Same here. I won't ride in a car without one. Occasionally I'll have something else on my mind and forget, but something doesn't feel right until I discover I forgot to put it on.
