Wow, everybody here seems really passionate about wearing seat belts. Good for you.

I always wear mine, and if anyone rides with me they have to wear it too.

I remember when I lived in Mexico no one in my host family put theirs on. They commented that it was odd that I used it because no one else did. I dunno, in Mexico driving seemed like a free-for-all, and traffic laws were merely suggestions...there was no way I wasn't going to wear a seatbelt! My thoughts were confirmed one day as I was taking a city bus and witnessed a car collide with another bus. The people in the bus were fine, the people in the car...not so much.

Seems like common sense to me.

I know! I was in a few taxis in Mexico and it felt a lot more like a roller coaster ride!

I always wear my seat belt. That being said, I dislike there being a law that you have to wear a seat belt.

I do, but it's so the person I'm riding with doesn't get a ticket more than anything.

Yep, I wear mine and tell passengers to as well. I was launched through a windshield from the rear of a station wagon when I was little because I didn't have one on. My sister didn't either, had a huge piece of glass stuck in her eye socket, and ended up in a coma. My brother had glass stuck in his face from the same thing - we all went airborne because we did not wear them.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

I believe seat belts are mandatory here. It's just a habit thing for me to put mine on regardless of whether I'm in front or the back. In fact it felt weird when I get on the back of taxis in some places. I went searching for the seat belt and I couldn't find it.

I wear my seatbelt when in a moving vehicle on the road if I can find any way to do so. That is 99% of the time. But then there are always those buses, and sometimes taxis, that don't have them... and then those other people's vehicles who stuff the seatbelt under the cushion so far (because they do not use them) that I have to frantically search for an end to pull on but by the time that happens the ride is already over
