Appearance is important because it is what you get straight away. If you see or feel something negative, the feeling sticks and it is hard to get rid of. You can ignore it but afterwards, what is the first thought that comes to your mind when you think about a person you met?

    yeah I'm like that too

    Particulary false assumptions bother me.
And vice versa I distrust people who come across as stereotypical.

Or, alternatively, the last thing one notices. Which may have any number of explanations, so it doesn't really say much.

so what do you when you observe? interpretation is assigning value. the mere thought of looking at an object has the assigned value of that object.

I today was sitting in my office, reasearching a new idea for a gasoline engine with direct injection and then I suddenly noticed someone was standing next to me.

He told me afterwards he was standing like 30 minutes next to me and I didnt notice. In my own office !

So how can I evaluate how I observe and then judge others, with that condition given ?

you just didn't see him. i see no further explanation needed for this.

I usually only judge people by how they behave more so than how they dress (I often don't even notice people's shoes unless it's a dressy occasion or their shoes are especially something I'm drawn to, but not usually). Usually I judge people on how warm they are, how kind, or polite. Or if they're intelligent or have a good sense of humor, stuff like that.

The only time I judge people on externals is, honestly, when I'm at work I look at people's groceries. I find myself getting unduly judgemental toward people who buy big cartfulls of fatty food and junk food for their children with no vegetables. I saw a lady one day buy so much candy and cookies that I asked her if she was having a party, and she said no, that she just lets her kids pick out that much sugar sometimes when she grocery shops. It was really outrageous and over the top, too. I guess it's weird to judge people by what they eat, but I do, especially if it's a very large order filled with unhealthy foods and there are small children involved. I feel almost guilty admitting it, but then again I think that enabling childhood obesity is a form of abuse.

I judge others the same way I judge myself.

What! Should I have one set of criteria for myself and one for you?

Surely that would be a double standard. It would not be fair. And my judgements would be inconsistent and unreliable.

And this is precisely what the MBTI scam leads to - it leads to one set of standard for one type and another set of standards for another.

The MBTI scam promises mutual understanding but delivers double standards and reification.

And double standards are merely obnoxious, while reification is sinister.

No, they are not the same thing. Are you one of those people who claims everyone is racist or discriminates in some way purely because they notice someone's race or how they’re different?
