I agree with that. Am not sure if the moral swing has to be frightful though...
Humanity loves extremes for some reason. I predict that yes, morals will continue to get more and more libertine, we'll get pretty darn extreme and only then the snap back in reaction to it.
Now I don't agree with either extreme, it's nothing I am cheerleading.

Oh don't worry, society will beat the individual with the carrot for a while and then the stick. Get slapped by the left hand and then the right hand...because if it was just one hand, one might be able to become accustomed to it and achieve a balance. That's never gonna happen!
Yeah, I was thinking the same; morals will get more extreme (in my PoV / the current public's PoV) from now; maybe polyamory will be normal, drugs won't be illegal, more skin exposed in public, etc, until some cataclysm happened in which humanity was devastated, and then it'll snap back again to the other side (if not making a new set of morals already)
but as for belief, I think homophobia will be one of the quickest one to be outdated. >_>; that, and eating meat. (maybe not outdated, but will be outlasted by vegetarianism so much that eating meat will be today's vegetarianism?)
