Sid - Glad it looks appealing to you. I hope you'll involve yourself.

    Re Questions:
I have thought about the time factor and how lengthy stories might discourage our casual browsers from thoroughly reading through the stories and giving a legitimate vote or even a vote at all. I don't really know how we could counter that problem, other than to scrap the short story thing and turn it into a poetry contest or something... Problem is, I don't really want to do that :/. I know at least a few people will get involved, however the vote turnout might not be as optimum as we'd wish.

Cheating is obviously a possibility. I'd hate to award a cheater myself, but given our insecure platform, that is the internet; there's little we could to do repel it (don't think I won't google every last one of your words, mother fuckers!). I'd like to hope we can luck out and our participants would have the integrity not to do something like that though... Unfortunately, no way to ensure it.

Wolf - Are you suggesting we scrap the integrated polling system of the forums and users would just type their ratings into the thread itself? Otherwise, I'm pretty sure the integrated poll wouldn't provide as many options as needed for your idea.

So, who the hell wants to even do this? Fluffywolf, Elaur, possibly Sid, possibly Lady X, possibly Jenocyde (given that $100 is suitable to him/her)... Anyone else?

Nice contest beat. I'd love to read some interesting stories.

I also don't think people should be limited to one specific genre. But having the stories satisfy a predetermined theme will make it easier to judge. Something broad and "vague".

I think fantasy has the broadest reach, really.

You should make "Depressed Russians" a genre in honor of Chekhov and Gogol.
