come to think of it if it goes like that people could argue against gay marriages this way.

    1st - gay marriages
Then what? if people keep on fighting for rights such as these there is no end to the possibilities opportunists could gain.

when i said that what i meant was is what i have posted in the above post. but i didn't want to drag pedophilia to gay marriages. cus people would misunderstand what i was trying to imply.

    Pedophilia.
That's why I don't like the slippery slope. It assumes that there are no standards at all ("If you don't follow MY standards, there will be NO standards!"), and that everything will proceed unhindered into chaos -- pretty much an alarmist attitude that doesn't note natural divisions already in existence.

With same-sex marriages, for example, only adults can enter into a marriage agreement.

While there are a few states that permit minors to enter into marriage (maybe age 16?), I think the "adult" cutoff point here has been fairly standard everywhere -- minors have rules protecting them, adults take responsibility for their decisions.

I don't think same-sex marriage will lead to state-sanctioned pedofilism. People in general are for adults having freedom to establish secure monogamous family units regardless, they're not for exploitation of minors. Next.

Yeah I can't see that ever getting much support for some reason.

Where's the "I don't care either way" option? I lean slightly towards yes, but I don't strongly feel any way about it.

There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.

I just feel bad for the goats -- all that love, no one to share it with. Baaaa. They'll have to start raising cats or something to quell the loneliness.

Well, I know China does not permit single men to adopt girls, while it permits single women to adopt (or rather, it did -- that might have changed). So it's not all about "gayness" why some places might have strictures on male adoption.

Actually, I saw a doctor in Baltimore for a bit last year, and he's gay and in a LTR with his husband, and they adopted a male boy a number of years back and they've built a family together. The husband actually wrote a book about it that I think you can find on Amazon. The doctor I saw was one of the nicest people I'd ever met and he was very helpful and encouraging to me, just a very profound guy. So yeah, to me, they just need to screen couples as they screen ANY couple... but the "gay" thing to me, if you pass the screening for being a stable healthy family unit, seems irrelevant.
