I love it! The noisier the eating/drinking the merrier in my opinion. Just don't scrape your silverware on the plate. Most blood curdling sound in the world.

Is licking the plate clean OK (not in a restaurant obviously) but at home .. My mum used to do that when we were kids and we thought it was hilarious. I occasionally do it every now and again if i have been eating raspberry pavlova or some other yummy dessert (when only close family are present).

Don't want anyone thinking i am a slob or anything

I hate when people eat or drink over the phone. I HATE IT!<----yes, I feel that strongly. I will ask them to stop or call back when they have finished.

    BarberElla,

*ChomP *Chomp* *Chomp*---> the whole mouth gesture, snorting, trying to be all 'technical' about it kinda wierds me out 2!

It's like, "Chew dammit. Chew ever so quietly."

I've learned to enjoy my food and zone into my own eating experience.

I notice that my plate is often really messy and kinda maybe bugs some people? Whereas their plates are ultra clean, and they seem to have problems with chewing bc they cannot enjoy their food the same way I do? So they kinda have to battle it out by chewing like it's a struggle?

To each his own? Whatevah makes people happy I guess.

The sound of people eating, especially slurping hot liquids or chomping ice really annoys me. It feels like it hurts my ears. Ear doc calls this recruitment.

I have a young female in-law relative who purposely engages in a series of gross out burps like the college students in movies. It's not annoying the same, painful way that loud eating noises are, it's just really gross and stupid.

This topic is a big letdown. I expected sound links in the OP. mp3 or Youtube or something. Instead, it's just a bunch of people complaining. Topic titles really should be chosen more carefully around here.

As a subway manager, you probably appreciate the sound of people eating, no?

My ex had a serious problem with hearing my teeth ever touch a fork or spoon. When he was growing up, it was apparently the height of bad manners. (Considering what he thought respectable, I tend to find his upbringing questionable at best.)

Still, I find I seldom - if ever - do that anymore.
