we would all starve to death, but grow lots of pretty flowers. We would have never invented, well a damned thing, but would have many fascinating religious cults.
Wait then we would have to declare war as our cult was the only right cult. Much blooshed and horror, but all executed rather ineptly, so with minimal casualties.
( On a serious note two of my favorite books are the fouuntainhead and the giver as in both cases whole chuncks or personality types seem to be missing. It makes the stories very surreal. The dune series kinda feels this way as well.)
