Oberon, does this mean that you disagree that he trolls? Or do you simply enjoy the novelty of a Muslim troll?

I'm still wondering what I have to do to get on his ignore list. I've flirted with him, argued with him, and done just about everything else I can think of, but he has me on his buddy list. Yet Economica makes a single thread that's not even that inflammatory and she's on his ignore list after a few posts. Is it because she's female? What if I told Sona that I'm a cross dresser? Would he ignore me then?
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

No, any response you give him he will enjoy. I got his goat by blatantly ignoring him (twice - in this thread and in the thread I link to in the OP).

Dare I say that being ignored makes him feel... impotent?

You know... this could be why

(You are safe from my so long as you don't feed him in a thread I care about.)

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Most people on these boards are American, Canadian, Australian, or European. All three of these cultures are similar, in broad terms. (Yes, in the end, Europe and America are similar.)

Pakistan, on the other hand, is nothing alike. What's unacceptable in our world is more than acceptable in their world.

America has a bad rep for being ethnocentric, but it appears that Europeans are just as ethnocentric towards lifestyles very different from their own. The way Sona sees the world is entirely different. People say that he treats women like dirt, but to the Pakistani, that's totally valid to both the man and the woman. Most people in the West look at it as a despicable and unthinkable act, but Sona comes from a culture that most of us don't understand and probably will never understand.

Certain cultures also don't put much emphasis on friendliness into their mold of social behavior. For example, Eastern European immigrants working in the English-speaking world are perceived as unfriendly.

I honestly don't think Sona is a troll. His perspectives are just a product of a different upbringing. People here talk about how open-minded they are, but they seem to shun alternate perspectives without even trying to understand them.

You are by far the worst offender Sahara :P. It must be the well-documented allure of the ISTJ for INFPs (though I have never experienced it). All I can say is that it's a good thing he's never seen that INFP ass of yours, because he would never leave you alone. Anyone who has seen *that thread* knows what I'm talking about.
