Okay, folks, I'm happy to continue the discussion elsewhere, but I don't want to hijack this thread; so I'll consider my bunny trail closed for now, until we get another thread going on the topic.

    Thanks for your patience.

I would think you would approve of the Machiavellian nature of the Neo-Con agenda.

May I ask a question? I haven't read all the posts on this thread, but I don't understand: if Sona, or whoever expresses an opinion, where is the problem? Even if you dislike or disagree with that opinion. In many forums there are a couple of posters that I deeply disagree and/or get annoyed by their opinions, but I cannot characterise this as trolling.
Maybe I am missing the point here, but I really don't see why are we accusing Sona: for having opinion, for expressing it, for his opinion not being popular?

No, I was just being silly and had no actual countries in mind -- which is why I used psychological terms, not sociological ones.

[Note to self: Stop being silly. That's the fifth time you have used that excuse this month, and people are not getting it.]

I think people are bored, and Sona also enjoys the attention.

But I agree with your perspective.

But I was talking from Oberon's perspective.

I actually do approve with the Neo-Conservative ethics. I just know better not to fall into their traps. The people who do fall into Machiavellian traps simply are too weak and stupid and they deserve to be taken advantage of.

To some, Neo-Conservatives are butchers, to me, they are surgeons.

And the only way to prove which culture is better is through war.

It's not a question of disagreement; it's a question of him not seeking to debate but merely to get a rise out of people.

Do you know what trolling is? Have you seen the example I link to in the OP?

It's irritating, it's unnecessary and - most importantly - it leads to otherwise interesting debates being taken off in completely pointless directions.

I dunno, the debates on this thread are extremely interesting.

I personally enjoy derails. They expand the mind.
