    Default Your forum type?

We all have different reasons for participating on forums on the internet. And often this results in particular cognitive functions to be used in excess that aren't typical to our MBTI type.

Do you notice you act differently on the forum that isn't characteristic to your type? If so, what is your MBTI type and how would you describe your forum-type?

INTP - I mostly post in a not so serious NeFe playful mode with Ti on the side. Due to balancing a bit between my extremely serious NeTi stance when I am at work.

However, when I forum in my spare time, my NeTi serious mode surfaces more on the forum. X)

Same here. And my online interactions frequently are the bizarro world of my real life.
At other points in the past when I am having more fun and less stressed, I have been far more serious in my online interactions (very Hustler-esque, not kidding) the last few years have been particularly stressful and serious so I am nothing but a postwhoring clown online.

It creates a nice balance, for me, not for anyone having to deal with me.

In personal discussions, through private messages or so, I generally maintain my INFP personality and stay true to my true being, not to mislead those interested in communicating with me seriously.
Otherwise, it really depends on the thread and my mood I guess. Sometimes more serious, other times silly, in certain situations remain detached, while in others get more involved and so on.
One constant is, that I mostly don't take things too seriously.

Probably xNTJ on the forum; offline, I'm definitely xNTP.

My ENTP is an easy formula for domestic stability with my xNFJ wife.

I dunno, I think I stick to INFP. I think when I discuss certain issues I lean toward INTP with how I sound due to being borderline and enneagram five. Not sure though.
