    E) refuse to help the friend and report them to the authorities but visit them in prison and remain friends

    F) refuse to help, report them to authorities, and cut off ties and friendship with them completely
Well that's not too smart. The person closest to you just killed someone and now you're going to backstab them?

Since this is hypothetical, I would say...

    G. Think they're awesome, help cook the body, and then go out for a night on the town.

Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty.

If I thought they'd get away with it: C

    If I thought they wouldn't: E

    So most likely E.
Why do we always come here?

    I guess we'll never know.

It's like a kind of torture,

I would pick A. Mostly because if I consider someone a friend, they've reached the point where I could trust them through anything. If they were really a friend, I'd try to understand their reasoning, and help them understand it, too. Besides, punishment for things like murder only exist because we're too afraid to deal with an "Every man for himself" outlook. It's you against the world.

Scary stuff. How does one value their friendship more then a human life itself.

Can't quite get my head around that.

Was that supposed to justify it all?

I guess. Before I read Harry Potter, I used to betray my friends and whenever I did something wrong, I said one of my friends did it. But there is some kind of weird philosophy behind Harry Potter which makes people think that friendship is more important than a human life. Weird huh?
