Default Does anyone else hate posting in long threads?

I find that I can't post in long winded threads unless I had posted in the first few pages, and even then I have to have been keeping up with the thread. It's like I only feel like I can contribute if I know everything going on in the thread, but the longer threads just take too much damn reading, and I'm lazy.

Also usually the long threads have exhausted most of what can be said about the topic of the thread so all the info I need is there and anything I could contribute has been contributed. ..or again I'm just too lazy to look and see if someone already posted something similar to what I might post, and repeating whats been said in a thread is just redundant.

Can anyone relate or should I just give up on life?

(once/if this gets beyond 3-5 pages I'll probably stop posting. :rolli

I never post anything longer than 3 lines.

I never read anything longer than 3 lines, or 3 pages. Especially at INTPc, shit is so dense...

edit: to be honest, I didn't read your initial post.

I read the title of this thread and my answer is:
    YES!
I usually read only the few first ones or the few last ones. Shame on me!

It depends on what the subject is. If it's anything that requires some intellectual thought, and of a remotely argumentative nature, then I hate posting in it once it's gotten long. Usually aout 40 to 50 posts. At the point, any chance of uncovering the truth is lost, and reasoning has been shattered. The thread will likely have become a gordian knot of its own assumptions and the personal investments of those who involved themselves.

Sure. Especially if the same people are posting throughout the thread.

    I have 3 trikes going
I'll get a paragraph and 1/2 writen and conclude that it's so descriptive that it might come off as condescending. Those i ditch.
I'll have the paragraph and 1/2 writen and notice that it's so ambiguous that its content can be interpreted in a negative way without that intent. Those i post.
i'm just a lazyass and don't care to investigate the threads history and post something that could have been said. Those i don't post.

everyone uses every function about evenly. take NE for example. if there are those who don't use it much, then why are there such massive amounts of people constantly flowing through Wallmart with 20 items or less?

I tend to disagree ... but long threads will go off on very long tangents with a pair or trio of posters, and thereafter not many are really interested in the op anymore, even though it gets scattered replies around the weaving digression of the said pair or trio. Which is unfortunate. A new poster really does often have something original to say if they bother to elaborate.

And I usually read long threads if they are about an interesting topic, but I'm more likely to want to post in new topics for sure.

SO HEY! If you want to have a good conversation, just start a new topic. Even if its pretty much the same as another one. I'll click on it! You bet!

I'm waiting for this thread to get long so I can not post in it.
