    Default OMG! RUN FOR COVER!

So, I got a "Severe Weather" alert popup today on my fireweasel weather plugin.

I noticed some clouds earlier, and that's no big deal, but then the popup came and I decided to go take a look at the entry...

    Check this noise out.

Thunder. A sprinkling of rain. The second light sprinkling in the last 5 months I've been here (I think it lightly rained for much of a day at work, too, now that I think about it)... There are still clouds, but the sun is shining under them now. Lasted 5 minutes or so...

Getting my hopes up, and nothing.
I want to see some real weather. Would some Middle-American adopt me for tornado season? Maybe someone in Florida that would have me over for a hurricane? I seriously need to go vacation in Alaska for the couple weeks that I can take if I mix them with holidays around Christmas just to watch the snow fall, wear my snowboarding coat, maybe ride some slopes...

Southern Saskatchewan is famous for them in July/August, so I hear. It's geographically part of Tornado Alley in the U.S., I suppose.

That's great, it's already gone. So funny.

Severe weather alerts in my area always amuse me. People that live in Los Angeles have no idea what "weather means. We get a half inch of rain and maybe a little thunder and the news proclaims "KILLSTORM 07". I don't even know why they do the weather on the news here.

Los Angeles at least has those torrential downpours, serious flash-floods, monsoon rain, and mudslides. We don't even get those down here. It's kinda boring...

On the prairies where I live, it's pretty cool for weather. People talk about how we're one of the few places when people talk about the weather, it's not because they have nothing to talk about, it's because it's that interesting.

We "regularly" have blizzards/floods/tornadoes/use the air conditioning for half the day in the car and the heat for the other half of the day/etc.

The US midwest has some of the most extreme weather in world. Lately, Florida hasn't been getting many hurricanes. I'm sort of disappointed. I haven't been through one in almost 2 years. I found the last hurricane I was in to be exciting, in a way.

    Where do you live, Wolf?
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Sounds like where I live. It goes "oh, another tornado warning."

Midwest? Yeah, there really isn't much else out there, except cows and grain. I wouldn't mind, except I have problems with flat land where you can't see mountains.

I lived somewhere with all this stuff (the tornadoes were rare and blizzards haven't happened in recent years). I don't miss the heat variations, but the tornadoes, blizzards, and floods are alright.

When they get that common it wouldn't be interesting anymore.

It's amusing to have people from out of the area there when such happens, though.
