I use Vista on my laptop, because it came with it, and i still use xp on my desktop, which is mostly used for gaming, so it works just fine for that. I've also used Ubuntu a few times.

I like Windows, i'm even sort of growing fond of Vista.

i think all of these operating systems have their place in the computing world so debating it, though fun, can get a little pointless.

though personally i think mac and linux are starting to get closer and closer in many different ways.

I use Windows Vista on all my computers - why swim against the tide?

I like the new mac computers - they are well made etc., but I ended up buying a PC with Vista as it was only 350. It does everything I need it to do.

i am just so angry that loud computers even exit.

we can fly to the moon, create atom bombs, but not serialize (and thus cheapen) noiseless coolers? this is ill willed sabotage! (yeah, just another example ...)

I use a Mac. I have OS X right now. Would like to get a new comp & OS X Leopard soon.
For my purposes, it just makes more sense to have a Mac. I admit they appeal to me more on an aesthetic level also.

I have windows XP. I don't*get* Mac. The X button is on the other side of the screen! It's like driving in another country for me.

I can't deal with not having a 2nd mouse button.

You can use control + click to get right mouse click options options on a Mac, or buy a two-button mouse. I thought I would miss the right mouse button, but not so much.

I have a Mac with OSX. I love it. I realize that it's not the end-all of computer systems, but it's functional and it at least seems like Apple puts more effort into developing their software than Microsoft does. I can't stand using Windows XP PCs that still use Internet Explorer as the web browser. Safari has crashed on me before, but nowhere near as frequently as IE. Can't say whether that's improved with Vista, though.

On the other hand, that a Mac is partly an aesthetic choice seems undeniable. And while I'm happy with my Powerbook and it runs very well three years in, certain things have been bothersome...particularly the infuriatingly flimsy power cord, which I've had to replace three times. I've had a hard drive crash/replacement, but I have with my PC, too.
