I love Vancouver Bit expensive, but I can't imagine living anywhere else in Canada (except maybe in my castle on the east coast bluffs). It's a bit rainy and not terribly warm... at least compared to some parts of the States/Europe.

I mostly stay for the multi-cultural attitude and the food. Definitely the food. I also like the mountains - good environment for biking/walking etc. as well as skiing/wintersports. And we are on the water too, so a lot of pluses with that - seafood to whale watching.

Pictures from my office, during wintertime:

(On the downside, the olympics are coming in a year - that's the construction down there )

PTGatsby, those photos make me homesick. I'll try to find some good ones of Montreal to post.

PT, great pictures! That city is so gorgeous in the winter. I can't quite tell, are those taken from around Pender and Thurlow? That's a great part of town.

Great pictures, PT. I can't tell -- are those evergreen trees on the hills beyond the city? It's hard to tell where the city ends and the trees begin.

My residence is great! You can witness firsthand the second-highest unemployment rate in the United States right here!

Yeah, that's the only thing I can think of right now. I should really be sleeping right now. :p

It's like a holiday (schools closed and all) when it snows...at all.

People from other states are horribly jealous of us.

There's a ridiculously huge bridge with a great view of miles and miles of heavy industry, mostly the evil oil and chemical companies!

The beach is rarely crowded (to be fair, it's probably one of the worst on the continent).

    The bars rock.

    Motorcycle heaven.

It's faster to drive from the edge of the state to the coast than it is to drive from one side of the state to the other.

Lots of 10 lane highways, and we have feeder roads, and everyone speeds.
