my stomach is growling.
i have frozen calamari, fennel bulb + fronds, and a leek. i think i'm gonna poach the calamari in a garlic, white wine, fennel, leek broth. add sauteed carrots and a healthy pat or two of butter. a little squirt of sriracha. possibly with rice noodles. i wish i had some saffron threads! probably add thinly sliced sun-dried tomatoes to the finished dish. some bacon would be nice too, dammit. if only!
it was either this or whole wheat angel hair with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, sauteed fennel bulb, sun-dried tomatoes, and a healthy scoop of oil packed sardines. with parmesian cheese and POSSIBLY toasted bread crumbs. maybe i'll only use half the fennel bulb tonite!
