    Default dinner time

    my stomach is growling.

i have frozen calamari, fennel bulb + fronds, and a leek. i think i'm gonna poach the calamari in a garlic, white wine, fennel, leek broth. add sauteed carrots and a healthy pat or two of butter. a little squirt of sriracha. possibly with rice noodles. i wish i had some saffron threads! probably add thinly sliced sun-dried tomatoes to the finished dish. some bacon would be nice too, dammit. if only!

it was either this or whole wheat angel hair with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, sauteed fennel bulb, sun-dried tomatoes, and a healthy scoop of oil packed sardines. with parmesian cheese and POSSIBLY toasted bread crumbs. maybe i'll only use half the fennel bulb tonite!

Fried Chicken, some mashed potatoes maybe, and a banana.

Half a cup of cheap ass coffee bought in bulk and a pinch-o-hagen.
everyone uses every function about evenly. take NE for example. if there are those who don't use it much, then why are there such massive amounts of people constantly flowing through Wallmart with 20 items or less?

For me, the usual snack is a spoonful of peanut butter. If I'm feeling rather more snackish I'll nuke a potato, put it on a plate with some leaf lettuce on the side, and drizzle both with bottled salad dressing. If I'm hungrier than that it's leftovers, generally speaking some kind of food from the slow cooker from yesterday, or spaghetti with jar sauce.

i went to culinary school a year ago and cooking is gooooood for my Se. also, last year i made under twenty grand. altho my dream is that some day when i grow up, i'll be rich rich rich! i already have one standing offer from a future doctor who promised me a quarter mill per year. right now i'm leveraging another offer. we'll see how that goes.

but in the meantime, i'm so poor i have to use the public library, and i think the guy sitting next to me is homeless and filled with ebola virus (based on his cough)... so i have to dream of finer things!

but seriously all you have to do in this day and age is go to foodnetwork.com and get a recipe. food is tasty. expensive but tasty. and frozen kroger-brand calamari is NOT high-test.

I pretty much ate everything edible (almost) in the kitchen so I'm going to make disgustingly bad for you instant noodles and poach and egg in the broth. That's it. Bah. I'm snacking on the last of some M&Ms I found in the fridge while I wait for the water to boil. Bah x 2.

    Ooooh, the *shame* of it!

I'm a foodie, too, The State I'm In, but my boyfriend is a much better cook than I, so I just let him have at it in the kitchen with his organic French hens and his strange herbs. Don't like fennel, though, to his chagrin.

My homemade split-pea soup with ham, cornbread, salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

    Kinda gray and rainy here.
