I think I've got a pretty good lie detector but it doesn't make much difference to me whether someone lies or not unless it has some direct effect on me.

Most of the lies I think I pick up on are usually just people trying to make themselves look better in my eyes and if they need a little ego boost, I let them have it.

No skin off my nose one way or another.

Damn! I just realized I misread the OP.

I think I'm pretty good at detecting lies, although a lot of times it'll be a gut feeling, so I can never be too sure. I have had my gut feelings confirmed a few times, however.

I'm not sure how often I catch people lying, but if I have a feeling you are lying, you most likely are.

It is REALLY obvious to me when someone is lying or something is not right about what someone is telling me.

Then again, sometimes it's obscured by the fact someone may be uncomfortable, nervous, or embarassed about something.

I'm also a bit paranoid in general.

Same here. It is irritating if I can't tell why there is a lie. However I am usually better off trusting my suspicions.

    Thank you Dr. House.

And yes, I generally can tell when people are blatantly lying, evading, or leaving something out.

I usually notice something because facts don't match. Since my natural conversation style is "Police investigation" I dig out the truth if I notice.

    Liar!

See that one was easy, but usually I'm terrible of picking out lies. I just hope the person trips up or something. I'm terribly gullible.

I have an STP elder brother.

Sixty years ago we we in an English kindergarten together.
It is a long time hence.

    It was a boring place.
(There had been a German Kindergarten before the war.
It must have been even more boring. The Nazi flags and the Heil Hitler.)

My brother suggested we play truant.
Our parents did not understand why we did not learn any English.

    They never understood anything.
