I love wit. this is one of my favorite jokes (catholics, don't burn me at the stake!):

A guy walks into a confessional, and says to the priest, "father, forgive me for I have sinned."
The priest says, "Is that you, Donovan?"
The guy says, "Yes Father Andrew, it is me?"
Father Andrew says, "Tell me, what is your offense?"
Donovan says, "Forgive me father, for I have been loose with a girl."
Father Andrew says," Which girl was it?"
Donovan says, "Alas, for I will not tell you?"
Father Andrew says, "Was it Hanah Gooday?"
Donovan says, "I will not say."
Father Andrew asks, "Was it Rebecca Nicht?"
Donovan says, "My lips are sealed."
Father Andrew asks, "Was it Delilah Veinanesse?"
Donovan says, "I shall not tell."
Father Andrew asks, "Was it Christene Zorasov?"
Donovan says, "I will never say."
Father Andrew says, "Go my son, and contemplate your sin. You are banned from your alter boy duties for three months."
Donovan departs. and meets his friend outside the church.
His friend asks, "So, how did it go?"
Donovan says, "Three months vacation and four good leads, Fred."

I know a guy who didn't get the joke. I think he's an ESTP, or some sort of artisan.

I'm usually the first to get a general joke and the first to go ahhh... right. Probably because its an incredibly repetitive taste.

I don't really laugh or tell jokes out loud. All my jokes circle through my mind, I figure people can make themselves laugh, not really something I wish to include myself in. If I'm funny I probably didn't intend to be.

A lot of people tell me my jokes suck, and I get really confused because I don't know what they're talking about. I didn't tell a joke. (I may have timed my wording, but there is nothing too humorous about that.) I usually try to respond by agreeing with them. It's like a crazy man laughing at your face, what more can you do but force him away from you by letting him lose interest?

On the note of humor, I think Antisocial One is a funny person. He's always making a dashing point.

I like wit and sarcasm but I definitely like the blatant silly stuff like humor found in Anchorman, Ace Ventura and stuff like that. Conan O'brien hits my funny bone hardcore.

This is definitely classic INTJ humor. Shadow Fi Se.

I think whatever humor I externally express comes from my shadow type, that being ESTP.

When I first started up I expected people to get Ni jokes and I found out there is no way that is gonna happen.

Does your MBTI type determine what you think is funny?

Actually, to answer the main question just a sec, what you think is funny helps determine your MBTI type. (There is overlap between types, you can't use humor preference as a smoking gun; but basically it's the opposite of the question posed.)

Did they just not get it, or did they just not view it as humorous?

I smiled a little, but it's not one I'd keep in my repetoire.

Heaven help me, I laughed when I read this.
(Basically, it blows all expected patterns for a joke, so I find it hilarious.)

This is the sort of thing that gets me in trouble, when I'm around other people and I just start laughing to myself about something and no one understands what I'm doing.

My INTP son (14) would laugh at this too.

    Default yeah..

I think iit does, at least a little. I've noticed that NTs tend be a little more fond of crude humor than, say, NFs. Not saying NFs don't like that (i adore it), just from my experience out of like 10 NTs and 10 NFs, 9/10 NTs liked rude mean humor, and 4/5 NFP found it offensive and ridiculous.
