Default Pick a dog for me

Lol. It's still going to be a while before I can get a pup (living conditions in the military prohibit) but in a little over a year and a half, when I have an apartment, I can get one. I've been thinking maybe an English Bulldog. What are some other suggestions along those lines (smallish, cute, friendly)? I prefer medium to smaller size dogs. I've never cared much to have a larger dog like a Lab, Doberman or something like that. Maybe if I had some property or something, but for a college bachelor, living in an apartment.. it doesn't work so well.

I don't believe in having pets but if I did have a dog it would probably be a Husky. Or a St.Bernard. So I dunno.

Those are good, intelligent and loyal dogs. My neighbors growing up had a nice one named Summer.

beat, if you're serious about this, then tell us about your habits. Do you have big or small living arrangements, what do you expect from a dog, are you into a lot of walking and sport, or not so much, what is your lifestyle, etc

Do not get a husky unless you've had a dog before and have a garden or the will to walk...a lot and a lot of patience as obedience isn't their thing. (FTR: I want one myself one day, so I did some research on the breed)

That reminded me of Dumb and Dumber. What do you get when you cross a
    shi tzu and a bulldog?

My best advice: Research the typical breed temperments and pick the kind that will be best suited for your personality and life style.

My favorite dog I've had is a Newfoundland... they're big and pretty stupid, though loyal and gentle.
