"If you stay here much longer, you will go home with slitty eyes.'' - Prince Philip (to a British student during a visit to China)

You have to admit, that was a witty one.

During a tour of Papua New Guinea, he told another British student, ''You managed not to get eaten then?''

OK, They are said to be migrated from Caucasian-Danubian region & Persia. The migration took centuries. Some left for Gotland [Sweden], then Germany/Denmark & Kent[UK].Some left towards Hungary, Netherlands, Belgrade, Ukraine, Belarus and other ex-Soviets. Another batch was settled in the fertile land of Indian subcontinent. You see some of their surnames still resembles with the Europeans. They had been living in a warm nation through centuries,so it is natural to have a bit darker complexion, but genes are the same. Jats are into agriculture & a lot of Jats in Indian army.
Most are landlords, had been kings in ancient times, and now many chief ministers/ministers are in states/nation govts. Even the unofficial name given to the belt is ‘JATLAND’. This sounds “Jutland’ of Denmark.

Why oh why does it matter so much to people of sub continent, that they have white in them, or are descended from white?

Seriously I am genuinely asking here, as I have noticed how only the lighter are prized, and how much you all care about some kind of aryan lineage?

Its part of our ancestry. In our culture more emphasis it put on it. Aryan simply means "noble" in Indo-Iranian languages. It has nothing to do, with having white ancestry. You see the Nazis had advanced a false theory that Aryans of India and Iran must have been white European invaders. However, the fact is, Aryan in Indian, and Iranian society just means "noble" the Caucasian ancestry of the jatts who also happen to have the title of "nobles" comes through the Scythians. Hence why in India you could be called "noble" such as high-caste Hindus, yet not have the accessory tracing back to the Europeans. Furthermore, in our Cheema culture more emphasis put on having intellect and warrior mentality and war strategy and standing up for the weaker tribes.

Just makes you another likely cousin in my mind, Sona. I only know where my family has come from within two generations of showing up in Canada: United States, Japan, Norway, Holland, England, Ireland, Germany, and Czechslovakia (great grandma and great grandpa left before WW II, the family manor is in what's now the Czech Republic). This only covers back to 1700 though.
Dreams are best served manifest and tangible.

All I know is, when I'm among the public at large I find that it's impossible to discuss race in any meaningful kind of way without sounding like a racist, at least to shallow thinkers. After getting tagged with that label at a former workplace, I no longer discuss race except with a few trusted friends.
