    Sure

I feel at home right now.

I have my own home with all the privacy, beauty and comfort I could ask for. I have my pets for the times I want company without conversation. I have a family member living within walking distance if I want company with conversation.

I live in a scenic suburb with friendly, if not slightly nosey but well meaning neighbours, there's a river and parklands nearby which attracts native wildlife including some very cute ducks and the same hills I've grown up with my whole life in the distance.

I'm 5 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city centre where every weekend I can entertain myself and people watch to my heartís content over a lazy brunch. I donít often reach out to people but I feel accepted and part of a community here regardless. It feels like home.

I really identify with this post! It's great, isnt't it, living just outside the city.. so you have freedom until you choose to join the crowd.

Hehe, me too, when I'm at "home."

I have moved 28 times in my life. I wasn't an army brat either- my mother was looking for "geographical happiness" as she put it and finally found it one day and I have moved since in the same city and state but haven't left the city or state since.

I feel at home wherever I am physically, if I have a constant companion. Wherever my mother was- was home, now wherever my hubby is, is home.

I don't let myself get too attatched to the physical part of the house or dwelling because I am so used to moving that I always feel like moving day could always be thrust upon me out of nowhere at any moment.

I will never have a sense of permanence in a home. I don't know that I'll ever have any real roots but I sure hope to- not having to be the new kid on the block for the rest of my life would be nice. My only sense of permanance is with those whom I spend my life with and I have found a person who is home to me= so really I have found my home.

No. I live in a military barracks... It's a residence but I could never refer to it as home.

I'm on my 10th residence now

Home is where my dog is- whether it's outside hiking, in the car or curled up in bed.

I was a military brat so I have lived in several different places. And since leaving my mother, I have moved several more times.

I am very close. But economic considerations keep me from packing everything and moving for the moment. I need to move further north so when the U.S. goes tits up, I can hop the border.

I feel at home. Not so much in my home as outside of it, roaming the hills.

Hm, yes. I am home. For now.

I am kind of looking forward to the day when I have an apt. that is mostly mine; meaning I can decorate and organize it like I want. That is hopefully gonna be my real home then. But that's gonna take another while. So until then, this one is okay.

I think it was when I got my very own apartment that I really felt like I had a home to call my own. I could put it together just as I pleased. Also, I had a cat by that point, and having a pet really gives a sense of permanence and home. I lived there for 4 yrs, and then moved into another apt. with my brother. This seems equally like 'home' to me too - probably because it's sorta like how it was when I was growing up, and I have a sense of family again.

Pretty soon though I'll be moving and will have a new home. I actually suspect that from here on out, wherever I am will feel like home, because it will be my home. lol. I won't be close to family, so will need to carve my own little niche wherever I find myself. And I definitely like having a 'retreat' to go to, with my comforts and my cat and just that sense of stability and coziness -- even though the other part of me loves getting out in the world and feels stifled by that permanence at times.

Re. the OP, I definitely get similarly antsy when it comes to being in the same place for the rest of my life (one reason I'm moving soon!). But perhaps some day that'll cease to matter and I'll be in a position where I WANT to stay put. I think that'll be the case at some point. In the future.
