I'm not sure what this concept of 'bored' is... I think I've maybe only experienced it a couple times in my life, but I know I dislike stress so I'm voting with boredom! Now if by bored you mean sitting in one place and staring at the ceiling while I THINK... this is not boredom and happens quite often.

This was the reason I asked the question.

I've known some people who were Ps and I would describe them as adrenaline junkies. Some of the MBTI descriptions seem to bear that out, SPs are generally described as risk takers and I was interested in whether the NPs (who make up a large part of this board) fit into that mold as well.

Actually I think I prefer stress.

Boredom is the absolute worst for me -- it's my enemy when it comes to jobs. I tend to get depressed and introvert in a bad way when I don't really have anything to do at work for more than one day. However, when I feel I'm almost 'too busy' and have 'too much to do', I get a lot of adrenaline and become super efficient and work well. So there's a weird energy associated with that sort of stress. Obviously too much of it, for too prolonged a time, would be a bad thing, but at least on the job I prefer it to boredom. I like having more of a sense of accomplishment, too, rather than not doing anything, and not having anything to do.

I don't really do either, but boredom is better, as I am good at mellowing out.

A *little* stress is better than a little boredom... but if we're talking some serious amounts of either, I'd much rather be bored. Boredom is well, boring. Stress is not only painful, but unhealthy, and it tends to lead to other things... like insomnia and heart trouble.

i hate being stressed but at least it's likely that i'm doing something so i think that would be better then doing nothing...or doing something i hated so much that it bored me.
and...i think i've had more good stress then good boredom.
