    Default Poise and the Porpoise

I value poise above all else.

For my ego is poised between my super ego and my id.

My ego walks first on one foot, called the super ego, then the other foot, called the id.

And just as the supreme virtue of a dancer is poise, so the supreme virtue of the ego is poise.

So my ego dances between the values of attention, sex and food and the super ego values of empathy, creativity and presence.

My ego is a dancer and is constantly poised between being off balance and being balanced. It is only through constant movement that my ego seeks and gains poise.

But if we seek poise, how do we find poise?

We find poise through the practice of alternance.

Alternance can be practised by first standing on one foot, then alternating with the other.

If you practise alternance, first you will find you are walking and before long you will find yourself dancing.

And so you will seek and find the inimitable poise of a dancer.

And when you gain sufficient poise, you will simply turn into a porpoise.

And as you know, porpoises are exquisitely poised. That is why they are called, porpoises.

Wisdom/Knowledge (combined), EXTREME CREATIVITY, questioning the old, perseverance, odd beauty, illogical hope, and making waves
Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty.

Extremity in the cause of creativity is no vice.

Knowledge, and everything else are trifles.

Ah, a man who knows what he wants.

Alas, my mother would prepare us trifle for dessert.

Fortunately it was wine trifle, a favourite of Baudelaire.

But a man who knows what he wants is not a man to be trifled with.

It is, in fact, a virtue.

It is almost as though the moment of creativity is an extremity.

    It's when everything changes.

And it comes as a surprise.

We long for it when it is absent, but when it is present we forget everything else - even ourselves.

    But....but....I would never forget you.
