Dude, I'm going to make a post about that! Interesting, thanks...okay, carry on with your popularity contest folks. I'll just sit back and watch the fray.

Oh and Peguy, just admit it. You're just pissed because I scored heathen utilitarian neo-pagan Buddhist whatchamacallit on the thingamajiggers.

I thought my vote was pretty realistic.

But darnit, there I go taking it seriously and stuff.
    Overthinking.

That said, around a year ago I think I would have voted 8 or 9 for high recognition (and high power) and, uh, divided affections. Nowadays I think I am closer to being universally liked (right after I send this I'm off to PM a certain member asking if they mind my publicizing the fact that we recently had a perfectly amiable PM exchange ) but a large share of the active members are probably unfamiliar with me. Depending on the size of that share (*resists urge to create Ecocentric poll*), I think I'm anywhere from a 3 to a 7 now.
    Definitely overthinking.

Here's one thing I noticed: the majority of people voted themselves as below average. There is no bell curve. There is a peak at "average" where I presume people are playing it safe. There is a peak at 10 where all the jokers and pricks reside and there's a vast pool of people who ranked themselves at the bottom. Does this mean anything? How to interpret the self reporting?

I guess what it means is you can't reliably count on people to be aware of their own likability and / or our culture has some serious checks in place against ego run amok.

What if the mean personalities are the ones that like you and are overthrowing those "nice" ones that don't,lol. It might scare the ones riding the fence into support for you thereby making your rating go up,lol.

Could it be interesting to do an anonymous poll on the importance of popularity?

LOL, no I mean, rephrase the poll into 'How important is it to you to be popular?'
