Edit2: okay, I'm slightly pissed, but just slightly. I can see why it was done, and it's better than looking the thread up and finding 2 replies on it.
FWIW, I kept my vote the same on both polls, and I'm sure others did too

    Yeah I was.

Edit: @Amargith -- sokay, I think the only way my little experiment could work to my satisfaction would be if the poll were private and the posting part of the thread were locked. I don't even know if that's technically possible.

Actually I think I'm being quite objective by putting myself there. I'm not typically on the boards that often, I'm not really on here for the socialization aspect so in that sense don't really 'bond' with people on here as much as others do, and I don't think I AM that popular overall. I thought my vote was pretty realistic.

But darnit, there I go taking it seriously and stuff.

WELL I was going to put myself at 10 but then I saw the other 10's and it was such a humbling experience!!!

Now we just need a system to "correct" the scores of the prolific posters (because quantity is not equal to quality)

Quantity has a quality all its own, according to Stalin. And he should know, given his forum pwnage.

Do you think people have an accurate idea of how popular they are? Or were you only interested in seeing everyone's perception of their popularity. If it's the second, don't you think there are some people who think highly/lowly of themselves regardless of who else knows it?
    I don't wanna!

    Pretty much.

Yes I do. But how to tell who they are? I think many people who would rank themselves lowly will refrain from voting in a public poll lest they seem to be fishing for affirmation.
