Some cool Dr. Quantum videos from the movie, What the Bleep do we Know which is a bunch of new age hippy psycho babble so I don't recommend it.

But, the animations from that movie are great laymans explanations of some quanutm phenomena.

Signals and Transduction anyone. Who ever said that the good old people at GMC don't deserve a bail out needs to go see if a lead salad might really be what they have been hungering for. Thank you chevrolet motor division of GMC, for this amazingly informational video from 1937 explaining the basics of radio transmission from the microphone to your radio.

    mechanical engineering is indeed

YouTube - how the cvt works

That's a CVT gear, "continually variable transmission". A basic rule of mechanics is, if you move two cogs and the driven one is half the size of the output one, you will have double the torque but half the rotation speed at the wheels. Thats why you actually need to shift gears in a car, because at slow speed you need much torque to overcome inertia with you car, while at higher speed you need rotation speed of the wheels.

The CVT works automatically and moves a belt along a cone, which provides due to its shape several variable transmissions.

    Love it in my motorcycle
