Ironically, I think there's a correlation between making the bed and being bad in bed. Let me go search pubmeb for the study...

I do remember something about men who organize the sock drawer are generally bad in bed. It was on the Today Show once because apparently Matt Lauer is an OCD freak. (Wouldn't you just love to roll him in mud?)

Its like ending your day with a present.

Also, its annoying when you are really tired to have to sort out the comforter so you're covered properly and comfortably, not wrestling a tornado of blanket.

    Exactly!

You know, I tried very hard to start making the bed for my ex-husband. I went out and bought all sorts of pretty pillows, etc. That lasted two days! Then I had all these assorted pillows all over the floor of my bedroom (what do people do with those pillows?!?!).

And what's up with sheets?!?! Not the bottom one, that's important, but a top sheet? Pfft!

Actually on that point.. why do people do all that stuff with sheets and blankets.

Bottom sheet, duvet in a cover. Comfortable and job done.

I only use it because my blanket is itchy....

Well that makes sense then! I'm really into fabric texture. I like everything soft! And difficult to wrinkle.

Even if I don't make my bed in the morning, I have to make it before I go to sleep. Straighten the covers, square the sheet, arrange the pillows, turn back the blanket, etc. Crawling into a messy bed feels like putting on cold, wet clothes. Not to mention the unsettling question of whether a creepy-crawler has found a nice warm spot in the midst of all those jumbled blankets. I've known a couple of people who've gotten spider bites or scorpion stings because they failed to check their sheets before going to bed. *shudders*

Because some nights are cold and you need three blankets. Two days later it may be warm and you only need one blanket. Or maybe you sleep in a house where the temp is 70 when you go to bed, and 55 when you wake up in the morning. Layers make your bedding variable and keep you comfortable. Everything crammed into one cover that doubles as a sheets means you have two options: hot or cold.
