I believe that at some point in the day, someone will rearrange and neaten up the sheets on their bed (even if it's just throwing the sheets so they're sort-of-not-really straighter), which would technically be making the bed. However, I doubt that most people wake up and make their bed as neatly as they were taught as children. Maybe after washing the sheets.

I would say that the ISTP carpenter would more likely make the bed, while the ISFJ maid would fix the sheets.

No, I've never made a bed nor have I fixed the sheets.

I voted no - I don't believe that most people make their bed on a regular basis (laundry days not included). However, I suspect that the ratio's a lot closer to 50% than either we "only make the bed on laundry day" or the "of course I make my bed every day" people would think.

I never, ever make the bed unless I'm expecting company (since they have to walk through my bedroom to get to my bathroom) or I'm changing the sheets.

I actually dont really move when I sleep so making the bed is a simple as pulling the crease out. I dont think its an SJ thing

I straighten everyone's beds in the house by noon every day unless they're in it. I assume most people at some point do the same with their own beds each day.

edit: on second thought, most people are pigs so they probably don't, but they should! Clean your shit, bitches! :P

I don't think most people do it. Only a few crazy ones.

Damn. This thread is embarrassing. It's hard always being right.

This is what happens when you come from an Orthodox Jewish background with a mother who cleans all the time and no friends as reference points.

Sheesh! Do you people actually need a definition of "make the bed" to make the correct choice!?

So be it: To make the bed simply means to square of the sheet, blanket, and comforter so that it's straight at the top and not bunched up in any one location. Likewise, the sheet should be nearest to the fitted sheet, followed by the blanket on top, and then the comforter, or bedspread on top of that.

Now I ask you again. Based on my definition, do most people make the bed?
If that is the definition, then yes, most people make the bed.

However, in a family where the standard is set by an INTJ Marine Corps Colonel grandfather, that is not "making the bed". :footballreferee:
