I say it depends on the situation. Obviously it doesn't make any sense to make the bed most of the time, since you have to unmake it to sleep in it.

If you're having company or tend to leave your bedroom door open, I think you're more likely to make it for aesthetic purposes. Otherwise, I don't think most people would bother, except maybe out of habit when they change the sheets.

Does this make my answer "yes" or "no"?

Likewise, and in the very least, you straighten it after you get in during the evening.

To suggest otherwise is a lie, to be quite frank.
Okay, so if you want to consider changing sheets making the bed, be my guest. In which case, everyone makes the bed. No need to even ask the question as we would assume most people change their bedding. I've been thinking about switching to a sleeping bag.

I always make sure that all of the blankets are pulled up after I get out, but I also sleep with them that way (I keep my apt quite cold)- I just don't like the look of the blankets being pulled down

I have met, and decided against dating, some people who very well may never have made thier beds, as they slept on a bare mattress with a sleeping bag (which makes me think of movie heroin addicts in things like Trainspotting)

    Righttt....

Well, I still voted no, since the only person I know who makes the bed... sometimes... is my mom. At least 5:1 against in my world.

So if you put the fitted sheet onto the mattress, and then toss the top sheet and blanket onto the bed in a heap, is that making the bed?

    Okay, okay, okay!

Sheesh! Do you people actually need a definition of "make the bed" to make the correct choice!?

So be it: To make the bed simply means to square of the sheet, blanket, and comforter so that it's straight at the top and not bunched up in any one location. Likewise, the sheet should be nearest to the fitted sheet, followed by the blanket on top, and then the comforter, or bedspread on top of that.

Now I ask you again. Based on my definition, do most people make the bed?

I can and will sleep anywhere. I value this adaptability to circumstance as the stoic disregard of creature comfort. To me sleep is just low-power mode.

You do mean each day (more or less), right? Cause I make the bed after laundry...

Yeah, probably. At least as often as they clean their bedding, which is probably once every 1-2 weeks for most. So, the default state would appear to be "unmade bed".
