I tried to restore a 1988 Nissan Pulsar NX SE (best year for them too IMO--1988 had the highest compression ratio in the engine for the N13 series), didn't get too far so I sold it off. Couple years later I told a coworker the whole story and he said it was a girl's car--his wife had one when she was in college. Makes sense based on what millerm277 said; small, sporty, not blisteringly fast though. And it had those funky slotted 80's style taillights.

    random image off google-

Loved it though, what little time I had with it. Such clever engineering on Nissan's part.

    Sorry, they just do.
Me too, me too well I pity someone anyway.

Well whaddya know, that works for me, I have a car that ends in 'a' and one that ends in a 'r', the former would be considered a girls car cause of its size and economic nature.

If I were a girl, I'd so be driving something like this.

lol Miata is a tiny car. I always laugh when I see guys driving them. Especially, when their heads practically hit the top of the roof. Or when I see really old guys in BMW Roadsters. It's so ridiculous.

I wouldn't necessarily have called it a girl car. My uncle had a series of Miatas, and I never thought anything of it. Midlife crisis car, maybe. Now, the VW Beetle is DEFINITELY a girl car. It is the Daisy Rock guitar of cars.

They have vaginas. Little-known fact. Don't bother looking, just trust me on this.

When I saw the title of this thread, and before I opened it, I thought of a former friend of mine who bought a Miata.

Even he said how girly it was.

    LOLOLOLOLOL.

    No, really I do.

I've been hearing Mazda Miatas were chick cars for a long time, that's what I though of too when I read the title.

My brother told me they were chick cars. I told an acquaintance this and he got a little indignant because, "My coworker bought one and he looks fine with it. It's not a chick car."

On the flip, I think actual trucks are sexy. I knew a girl in FL who drove a Ford pick-up. Sexeh.

I once dated a guy who had a white compact car with one of those vinyl stickers in the rear window with a picture of a palm tree with "Whatever!" or "Spoiled" or something written under it. It was definitely girly. I made fun of him for it and he told me it wasn't his idea, he had bought the car from a girl.

I never thought of a Miata as a girl car. I think perhaps there are a only a few cars I might even consider "girly". Cars in general just seem more man-like things. It's like trying to pick out which power tool is considered girly imo.
