Ach, true story. It's a pain in the ass... how the hell do you stop thinking and just live?! It's impossible! Everything must be analyzed and reanalyzed and overanalyzed until your head explodes!!! At this point you'd think you couldn't think anymore, but no... evidently you can still over-think things long after your brain's turned to mush.
...and this is why I'm not particularly happy.

Oooh! This isn't my thread but what about if you are currently unhappy, what do you think would make you happy? I have tried this before and I honestly could not answer it. I think right now I am leaning towards:

Being comfortable enough in my present so that I could see a positive future.

I'm usually happy. Self-confidence allows me to have an optimistic view of my future. To put it in mathematical terms:

If the x-axis is time and the y-axis is happiness/sadness level, my typical happiness level would be y = L + Msin(x), where L >> M. There are occasional disturbances, but they're only temporary.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

I'm very happy, I think. In almost all senses of the word.

I'm unhappy and happy about it, because then I have an excuse to complain.

Flawed poll. Happiness consists of moments. It isn't a character trait.

Not necissarily. It would depend on your definition of happiness. It does cover a very broad range of more specific emotions, though.

You have never met anyone that had a propensity for happiness or another person that seemed more likely to always be unhappy?
